Cloudy with a chance of meatballs
As same as in the previous Unit, students have a Challenge. They must watch this movie at home (in English) and summarise the film in a piece of paper.
Lesson 1 (Warmer). Brainstorming. Learners watch the trailer of the film, then, they put in common the ideas they have collected about the movie. In groups, they must rewrite only the common ideas and then read them aloud in front of the class.
Lesson 1 (Activity 1). Driving Question: What could you do for making the world a better place?
Lesson 1 (Activity 2). Unravel. In groups, pupils try to solve a problem, they write some solutions by creating a crazy invention. Then, put them in common.
These are the problems that each group must solve: pollution, endangered animals, hunger, third world problems and war.
Lesson 1 (Conclusion). Jumping Game. Get students to stand in a line in front of the white board. Write ‘Yes’ on one side of the board and ‘No’ on the other. Ask students about his/her opinion about means of transport: “”; “Cars are faster than trains”, “Public transport pollutes a lot” …
Lesson 2 (Warmer). Babel. Teacher shows them, one of the most famous structures of TATE (Modern Museum), they read the following article and get some extracts about this big object.
Lesson 2 (Activity 1 and 2). World Radio Day. 1.Crazy Inventions. In groups of five, teacher hands out one revolutionary invention per group, find information ICT. 2. Podcast Time. They record themselves talking about the invention, the rest of groups have five minutes to write some questions they want to know about the invention.

Lesson 2 (Conclusion).
Lesson 3 (Warmer). Story. In groups, learners try to create a short story by using some means of transports.
Lesson 3 (Activity 1). Grammar Project: Did you travel by/on…? 1. Find a partner. Every student has a card, they may ask the previous question to find the classmate with the same means of transport.
Lesson 3 (Conclusion). It happened yesterday! Image that something extraordinary happened to you yesterday. Teacher provides a set of verbs in the past, students must create a story which contains this list of verbs.
Lesson 4 (Warmer). Match them. In groups, teacher offers some women names and important facts, they should guess and match. Then, they check their answers.
Lesson 4 (Activity 1). International Women Day. 1. Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls. Each group has a woman, they read her biography and summarise it, then explain in front of their classmates.

Lesson 4 (Activity 2) . Learning Stations. Five stations, on each one, questions about the five women (four skills worked). Learners try to solve these challenges.
Lesson 4 (Conclusion). Definition. Choose one of the previous women and define her in one sentence, write it on a piece and paper ang give it to the teacher.
Lesson 5 (Warmer). What do you use for…? Students sit in pairs, then the teacher names an object, the faster in answering the question gets points for Class Dojo.
Lesson 5 (Activity 1). Speaking Record Time. Quiz Show. In groups, teacher hands out questions related to the contents seen. Teacher numbers the groups, they ask following the order. Pupils have ten cards per group. When one group gets five points, the game finishes, the winner is the group who has more minutes talking, more clues to guess.
Lesson 5 (Conclusion). What comes next? Watch Master Chef video to guess what is going to happen in the next lesson.
Lesson 6 (Warmer). Commando. The teacher is the commando and gives commands to the class, they have to do the previous things you have to do before start cooking: wash your hands, put on a hat, keep the table clean, clap your hands with your partner…
Lesson 6. International Mother Language Day (eTwinning).
1. Master Chef. Cook a “Murcia salad”, work in pairs to be the winner (egg wille be previously boiled, they will cook in the school dinner-room).
RECIPE 2. Ireland Master Chef. Irish classmates cook an Ireland recipe. Both countries watch the competition and decide the best couple (rubric: cooperation, collaboration…)
Lesson 6 (Conclusion) Winner Celebration. We play some music and celebrate with the winner couple.
Lesson 7 (Warmer). Guess the food. Each group defines a specific type of food, the other groups must guess them.
Lesson 7 (Activity 1). Pancakes’ Day. 1. Cooking Stations. Groups of five, pupils overcome five stations related with pancakes vocabulary, tradition… each station is destinated to work a different skill. Each time they solve a challenge they get a part of the pancake recipe. Once they have done all the quizzers, they will get a reward.
Lesson 7 (Conclusion). Let’s make a pancake. In groups, learners create a wall painting with a pancake full of love (they should write positive things about friends, school…).
Lesson 8 (Warmer) The Choice. Before to start the main activity, teacher keep students under pressure, in three seconds they have to write three things they would bring to an island.
Final Task: Let’s go on a trip. Plan your trip, (means of transport and food). Teacher provides them a map (template) with the things they have nearby. In groups of five, plan and describe your trip, use more than one mean of transport and different food. Students can also create a mean of transport for the future (define it) to make their trip a little more fantastic and fascinating. Explain it to your classmates, they should ask questions.
Lesson 9 (Conclusion). Exit Ticket. To get out of the class, learners write on a ticket the thing they like the most about this unit.
